Types of Logo
1. Iconic
Icon-only logos virtually never begin as such. They usually start out as part of a combination logo which, as the brand becomes famous, become recognisable by the icon alone.
2. Logotype
Text-only logos are used in more traditional companies or industry sectors. They portray the brand name rendered in a stylised font to reflect something of a brand's style or culture.
3. Combination - Icon
This is the most popular type of logo for new ventures. It groups an icon and text together, with the aim of each element balancing the style of the other to create a cohesive whole.
4. Combination - Graphic
This is a relatively new type of logo and is popular amongst consumer-facing brands. It integrates graphic and text together - usually in a way which emphasises or illustrates part of a brand's name or service.
