Mobile Site or App?...

- Mobile Sites are usually a compact version of the main site with a more adaptable layout for smaller screens and using universal technologies. Our websites seamlessly switch to the mobile version when a mobile browser is detected.
- Mobile Apps are useful if there is functionality to build in, especially any that involves interaction with the hardware, like utilising the camera, GPS or accelerometer. Apps are particularly suited to e-commerce and recruitment and most of our apps to date have been in these sectors.
-
Our Apps...

- We have already produced mobile apps for specialist mobile marketing clients - unfortunately, for contractural reasons, we are unable to show these here - sorry.
- We have recently recruited our own dedicated mobile app/site programmer, so can now offer these facilities direct to our clients, increasing productivity and speed to market.
- We produce each app in iPhone and Android versions (others on request) and our service includes processing through Apple's App store and Google's Android Marketplace.
-
Web Technologies on Mobile Devices...

- Most mobile browsers run most web technologies, the difference is their support for Flash.
- Flash-capable devices include most phones and tablets running either: Android Honeycomb (v3.0), Symbian version S60-5th edition, Windows Phone 7 or HP's new WebOS 2.0.
- Non-Flash capable devices include all iPhones, iPods and iPads, Blackberry handhelds (although some may soon), Android handsets before v2.2 (Froyo) and most Nokia, Samsung and Sony-Ericsson phones and tablets not covered by the "Flash-capable" section above.
-
Alternative Technologies for Mobile Devices...

- Flash is not ideal due to its limited mobile compatibility, but we now have a vast array of Javascript and HTML5-based software which can, to a large extent, mimic some of the features only Flash used to offer. This includes jQuery, Mootools, Spry and others, click for more info...
- This site uses Flash for the large, page animations, but incorporates "graceful degradation" - a technique offering a more universal visual alternative if the browser detects that Flash is missing. Visitors browsing it without Flash would not notice anything - the transition is seamless.
