NEW! Digital Embossing

Digital Embossing is a new technology that effectively adds a deep 3D varnish to a printed product. When applied to printed images it creates a very tactile raised finish - imagine a photographic world map where you can actually feel contours and coastlines with your fingertips!
Digital Embossing can be used to enhance most coated paper and card and to all laminated products - it is particularly striking when applied over thicker materials and/or matt lamination. -
Lamination

Almost any product printed on card can be enhanced by adding a laminate - a very thin sheet bonded to the paper or card surface. Lamination is available to add a high-gloss shine, a highly tactile matt feel or a silky-smooth finish.
We have used laminating very effectively on business cards, postcards, brochure covers etc, and the best thing about it is that it adds very little to the overall cost of a print project.

Die-cutting and shaping

Business cards are ideal for shaping as their thickness means you will always end up with a rigid product. We have produced cards with simple rounded corners or drilled holes, laser-cut shapes and completely bespoke die-cut cards in the shape of logos and products.
We can also print brochures using die-cuts - from simple top corner rounding to soften the overall look, right up to completely bespoke die-cut brochures in the shape of a corporate graphic. -
Pantone Colorlogic® (previously known as "Metal FX®")

Colorlogic is a process which adds a metallic finish to any colour in your design! The original colour is overprinted with a metallic ink - it is incredibly accurate so is ideal for enhancing logos, charts etc
Any number of metallic colours can be added to a colour print and the eye-catching effects that can be achieved are possible without the excessive extra cost normally associated with adding a metallic 'Spot Colour' to a print run. -
Spot varnish

Spot varnish is a way to subtly emphasise a specific design element on a page. We tend to use spot varnishing on small areas - for example, on brochure covers and business cards, we can apply it to the company logo to give a shiny, gloss finish and make it really stand out.
It is most effective when a gloss spot varnish is added on top of a matt laminate, as the contrast works really well, however it also looks good on unlaminated print.

Foil Blocking

Foil blocking applies a metallic foil to a small, specified area of your print. It is a good way to add an actual metallic to a print as, when compared to printing a metallic colour, it is much more reflective. Having said that, foil blocking is, of necessity, a solid colour, so it is more useful for text or solid block shapes than for tinted areas containing shading.
Foils are available in many colours so please call us with your specific requirements.
